Frogboy
Dallas, TX
Frogboy is the name for one of the many musical projects of Daniel Huffman from Dallas, TX. Daniel was a founding member of the now defunct early-90’s band Comet, which released music on the British label Dedicated Records and toured extensively. He currently plays guitar and electronics in an improvisational band called Ghostcar, which has released three albums and blends elements of space rock, electric jazz, Latin grooves, and disco.
In addition to his own musical projects, Daniel has contributed to several other noteworthy bands. He is credited with playing guitar, loops, and noises on Low’s 2001 album “Things We Lost In the Fire”. He also spent six weeks as part of the road crew for the Flaming Lips in 2002 and occasionally served as an auxiliary musician during the tour. Currently, he plays guitar for The Polyphonic Spree’s massive live show.
As Frogboy, Daniel draws from these many musical currents and mixes them with strains of IDM and electronic music. He has played in a number of the intense Laptop Deathmatch competitions in Dallas and was a champion of one. However, Daniel often wonders if “Frogboy” is a silly title and if “The Pepto-Bismol Pig” might be any better.
