Many Birthdays
Thirty Ghosts
Austin, TX

Many Birthdays are a 4-piece Austin group that started as a recording side project for bassist John Dixon in 2002.  It has gone through many changes, including one that brought he & synth girl Sarah Luce to Japan in '03 and '04.  They currently push out new tunes on a regular basis with guitarist Henna Chou and drummer Rachel Fuhrer.

The Many Birthdays sound is dance & art-rock blended with a DIY punk aesthetic.  Their self-released, limited edition "Days of Beat / Days of Hollow EP" sold out within a year.  The latest EP, "Emptiness is Forever", was released in Sept. of 2008 and is being distributed nationally by Nail Distribution in conjunction with Thirty Ghost Records.

They played 2 sets at First Night Austin in 2008 to an enthusiastic crowd of 2,000.  In the Spring of '08 Many Birthdays took their electric sweetness on the road and completed a successful 2 week tour to the East Coast.  The tour schedule and diary can be found on the website manybirthdays.net.  This past October they played KVRX Local Live & opened for Gossip on Emo's outside stage.

A full length album of new music reflecting all of the band's neurotic tendencies is slated to be released in 2010.
