A.M. Architect
Exponential
San Antonio, TX
A.M. Architect is the result of a musical partnership between Daniel Stanush and producer Diego Chavez, who also creates music under the pseudonyms Aether and Otic Angst. The group's full-length debut, The Road to the Sun, was released in May 2009 on San Antonio's Exponential records label.
The album is a study in the mix of organic and electronic music; a blending of the tones and niches that define the two collaborators, while simultaneously blurring the distinctions that set them apart. Fender Rhodes and acoustic guitar reside comfortably alongside glitched-out beats and unintelligible samples, creating something both ambient and decidedly pointed.
A.M. Architect has its roots planted in hip-hop but around its head swirls jazz and ambience. Their compositions also features a wide array of instruments, including pedal steel, cello, field recordings, synthesizers, piano, and drums. Their live performance will include bass, keyboards, and laptop manipulation.
