2014 marks the return of the Austin Museum of Digital Art’s Screening Series with a showing of the excellent 2011 documentary PressPausePlay. Austin chiptune fusion act Chalkboards opens the event along with a special program of short films from Gian Mario Ortu, Jonathan Gillie and more.
The digital revolution of the last decade has unleashed creativity and talent in an unprecedented way, with unlimited opportunities. But does democratized culture mean better art or is true talent instead drowned out? This is the question addressed by PressPausePlay, an award-winning documentary film created by Swedish digital agency House of Radon. The film contains interviews with some of the most influential creators of the digital era, including Moby, Seth Godin, Robyn, Lykke Li, Andrew Keen, Sean Parker and Hot Chip.
