NMASS Festival (2014)
In 2014, AMODA partnered with Church of the Friendly Ghost to present the NMASS Festival (New Media Art & Sound Summit). It featured three days of experimental music, performance art, film, workshops, and installations at the Salvage Vanguard Theater. NMASS 2014 included such notable visiting musicians as J.G. Thirlwell (NYC), Gary Wilson, and Noveller (NYC). It also featured a wide range of local musicians, including several special collaborations between noteworthy local artists formed just for this event. In addition, the festival incorporated a number of visual artists, including a film program curated by Clint Enns (Toronto) and several interactive large-scale installations.
PROTOS Festival (2013)
In 2013, AMODA presented PROTOS, a Digital Art + Prototyping Festival. This ambitious event featured 4 days and 4 nights of programming at the Long Center in the Deborah and Kevin Rollins Theatre. The PROTOS daytime events featured presentations, workshops, makeathons, film screenings, and speaker panels. These daytime events focused on a range of innovative and culturally relevant topics such as digital art, urban prototyping, motion graphics, video games, public works, visual design, and sound. During each evening of the festival, PROTOS featured cutting-edge digital art, experimental electronic music, live audio/visual performances, and interactive dance performances from a range of local and international artists.
