About the Screening Series
The Screenings Series features digital video, film, motion graphics, and animation in a theater setting. Screenings may include thematically related short videos, long-form narrative features, documentary films, or collaborative audio/visual performances. Similar to AMODA Performances, our screenings are typically held at seated venues, including theaters, auditoriums, and concert halls. This allows the audience to focus on the film and video content in an ideal setting. In conjunction with a screening, we may also feature supporting elements, such as a local opening band, a short talk by the filmmaker, or an installation piece.
Past Screened Works
The Screening Series has featured a diverse selection of films related to digital art. These have included Objectified, a documentary about industrial design by Gary Hustwit; Cartune Xprez, a live audio/visual performance and collection of abstract video art; PressPausePlay, a documentary about the impact of the digital revolution on art and music; and an AMODA-curated collection of short videos on the theme of videos games.
