Alan Abrahams, the man behind Portable and Bodycode, emerged out of the ruins of a post apartheid South Africa. Growing up in an impoverished Cape Town township, tagged “Beverly Hills” by the locals, Abrahams was always immersed in his sister's ritual of getting ready for a night out to a soundtrack of 80’s soul, hi life and hip hop. Inspired by the first batch of Chicago house records, the foundations were laid for his future in music. Experimenting with ways of combining traditional African rh... More >>

Ernest Gonzales is a "Hyphenated American" aka Hispanic, Chicano, Latino, or Mexican -- whatever you want to call it. He grew up next door to the Alamo, but his Spanish is muy pequito. Gonzales is the only child of an electrician father and a Home Depot customer service rep mom. Latch-key only child = video games, drawing trees, making bow and arrows, too much MTV, and pizza pockets. Somehow in between engineering camps Gonzales decided to go to art school, but he has no plans to paint the Virge... More >>

																	Bello Ragazzo
Bello Ragazzo
Austin, TX

Bello Ragazzo is based upon the original songs of Jorge Balarezo (aka Blue Noise). Blue Noise originally existed as purely electronic music, but Jorge's ultimate goal was to perform in conjunction with live musicians. With the help of local musicians Christian Barsi, Robinson Sudan (Radio Remote), and Caleb Harmon, the goal of a live electronic band has become a reality. Blending electronic glitch and dance beats with organic drums, guitar and bass, Bello Ragazzi explores and combines the realms... More >>

Dylan Reece is a multi-faceted humanoid who sometimes rocks a moustache, and sometimes rocks the house. An AMODA alumni, Dylan has designed fliers, performed original computer music, djed, and laptop battled for numerous AMODA events since arriving in Austin in 2001. His style involves exposing the darkness beneath the ornate and whimsical aesthetics of pop culture.

Influenced by sample-era hip hop from the likes of Marley Marl, Pete Rock, The Dust Brothers, Prince Paul and DJ Premier, Starsign became intrigued by the idea that young producers were making funky dance tunes or souled out jazzy grooves out of obscure samples usually found on dusty records. Initially buying records as a fan and flirting with the idea of producing, Starsign got to the point where he had enough records to throw parties and play some of his favorite funk cuts spliced in with hip ... Lock the liquor cabinet, and hide the silverware, The Young Adorable is plundering this month’s AMODA Digital Showcase. The YA has been djing for quite some time now, but has recently been building his reputation as one of the premier electronic DJs in Austin since his return from Philly last fall. You may have caught his Erotic City dance parties, or busted ass at his monthly roller boogie, Grits. He specializes in the realest tunes dance music has to offer from any time period. digital video

The name 310k is a combination of Ivo’s ‘electronic live-band’ and artist collective 3-1 and Paul’s Ok, which was short for Ocktak (the name of his design studio). We joined forces in 2000 after we found out we both loved graphic + web design, video, music, snowboarding, chocolate and organizing events. We started working together on some free graphic projects, stickers and exhibitions. Things went well so we continued working as a team.

We enjoy working with different media (web, ... More >>

From the printed word to the small cell of film, ampersands and spring flowers, color palettes spawned from everyday chance occurrences, the science art love triangle, magic crystal revelations, beautiful compositions, rofls, boxes filled with carefully cut scraps hoarded over a number of years, dance parties, embroidered cloth, letterpressed letters, mittens, photobooths and the young of the bear and other wild beasts. generative software

Marius Watz is an artist concerned with generative systems for creating visual form, still, animated or realtime. His signature is a brand of visual hedonism, marked by colourful organic shapes and a maximalist attitude. Most of his works deal with drawing machines implemented in software, live visuals for music or large-scale projections of plastic visual systems.

Watz discovered the computer at age 11 and immediately found his direction in life. At age 20 he defected from Computer... More >>
