Youth Media

"Seeing Into the Digital Future"

The Austin Museum of Digital Art presents its latest Youth Media program, "Seeing Into the Digital Future." The event is in collaboration with the RunTex Interactive Village, part of the SBC Texas Round-Up.

To introduce youth to the digital art medium, "Seeing into the Digital Future" will feature two computer stations for kids to take a digital photograph of each other's eyes, process and print the image and add it to a collage of eye photos that will be gradually created as the day progresses.

The event will also include artwork by local Austin digital photographer David Wilcox, who was featured in AMODA's last Exhibition Series, "Promise of Progress." Wilcox's body of work includes a focus on digitally manipulated photography, culminating in large-scale digital prints. An installation from his current series "Hamburger Landscapes," investigating the relationship between the early American landscape and the contemporary social landscape, will be on display. Wilcox will be delivering an artist talk at 5 p.m.

The RunTex Interactive Village will take place on the Texas Capitol Grounds on Saturday, April 17th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. More information on the Interactive Village and The SBC Texas Round Up can be found on RunTex's web site.
